WHAT IS WAXING?

Waxing is the most popular form of hair removal. It semi-permanently removes hair from the root and will take approximately 2-8 weeks for new hair to grow back. Any part of your body can get waxed. There are 2 main types of waxing: strip waxing and hot waxing. Strip waxing is when you apply a thin layer of cold wax directly onto the skin and take a strip of cloth and firmly press it down, then rip it off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Along with the hair, the wax comes off too. Hot waxing is where the hot wax is applied in a thicker layer and allowed to cool down and then after it hardens, it is removed without using cloth strips.

BENEFITS OF WAXING

Waxing lasts longer than shaving because it pulls the hair out from the roots. Once the hair grows back, it will be much finer and weaker.

Shaving can lead to bumps and stubble if you do not shave often enough, but waxing will leave the skin silky smooth and not itchy. Waxing is great for preventing ingrown hairs. It also does not lead to cuts or nicks, like shaving.

Hair removal creams and shaving can irritate sensitive skin and leave rashes, but waxing will not do that. Hot waxing is actually ideal for sensitive skin. Waxing, with the right techniques, can be pain-free, while hair removal creams can burn and cause discomfort to the skin. Creams can oftentimes be made with harsh chemicals, causing the appearance of darker skin, but waxing can brighten darker spots and leave the skin looking cleaner. Waxing can also remove dead skin while also removing hair, exfoliating the skin and leaving behind healthy skin that glows.

Waxing is quick and convenient. An individual can quickly get a wax without making a mess and leave for an event right away. Waxing is efficient; unlike shaving, it can clean up and groom places that shaving cannot.
