What is the Vampire Facial?

This unique anti-aging treatment may sound scary, but we promise it will leave your skin feeling revived and rejuvenated. The Vampire Facial treatment is SkinPen Microneedling paired with PRP, or platelet-rich plasma. It involves drawing your blood, separating the blood from the platelets, and microneedling the platelets back onto your skin to help stimulate new collagen, plump sagging skin, diminish scarring, speed up the healing process, and more.

WHAT IS SKINPEN MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling creates controlled microscopic injuries to your skin, which is what stimulates tissue remodeling and boosts collagen production. This treatment is great for improving texture and acne scarring, uneven skin tones, and helping to minimize the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles to create a tighter and smoother look in the skin. It is appropriate for all skin types and can be used almost anywhere on the body.

WHAT IS PRP?

Blood is mainly a liquid called plasma, it’s made up of red cells, white cells, and platelets. The platelets contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors that are very important in the healing of injuries. PRP is plasma with a very high concentration of these growth factors. We get the PRP by drawing your blood and putting it into a centrifuge. This is where the platelets are separated from the red blood cells during the spinning process, leaving you with the concentrated growth factors, or what we like to call, liquid gold.

The Vampire Facial combines microneedling and PRP to speed up the healing process and stimulate skin renewal, producing better results than with microneedling alone. Because we’re tapping your body’s own resources to rebuild your skin from the inside out, you benefit with natural-looking results that last.

HOW DOES THE VAMPIRE FACIAL TREATMENT WORK?

We start by drawing about 2-4 vials of blood from the arm. These vials are put into a centrifuge to spin for about 15 minutes. During this time, we will apply numbing cream to the areas being treated. When the spinning process has completed, the PRP will be drawn out into applicators to be easily transferred topically to the skin. After a full facial cleansing, your Aesthetician will begin by applying a generous amount of the PRP onto the skin and immediately microneedling over top of it. The small micro-channels that are created allows the PRP to be fully absorbed into the skin. After a few passes over the entire treated area, any remaining PRP is applied and rubbed into the skin.

Vampire Facials are safe, effective, and well-tolerated with minimal side effects. The downtime for Vampire Facials varies from person to person, but patients typically notice a significant improvement after the first two or three days. Most patients will have fully healed within one week after treatment. It’s

important to avoid sun exposure immediately following your treatment to minimize the risk of hyperpigmentation.
